LocationUS-Iowa-DavenportDate Posted05 Jun 2018 Cobham is seeking an Instructional Designer to design and develop training material and assessment tools for various delivery media. The goal is to help learners acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies in an effective and appealing manner. This position is located in Davenport, IA.Key Responsibilities:Work with the Training Manager, SMEs, and stakeholders to define the need for training, create the content that addresses the need with related materials and assessments; and determine the best delivery solutionUse Bloom taxonomy to define clear instructional goals and objectives for courses, presentations, class manuals, and lab booksResearch subjects, synthesize information, and write training content based on raw material, input from SMEs, and previously developed training materialWrite scripts for training, build storyboards, edit graphics, audio, and video componentsDesign screen layouts and create animations or interactions appropriate for the contentDesign and build assessments in meaningful interactive activities to improve learning retentionRecord temporary voice-over or use text-to-audio software for temporary animationsWork with SMEs and other stakeholders to ensure accuracy of the content from draft stages to upload of the final version into the LMSWork with SMEs to produce Instructor-led material that include presentations, class manuals, and lab booksBuild both individual courseware components, courses, and complex training programs relative to different subjects, function, or requirementsRevise and update training and related material in various formats, using any MS Office software, Adobe, and Articulate authoring programsUnderstand, interpret, and present technical conceptsApply adult learning theories and instructional design principlesCreate and maintain onboarding and learning plans; and perform any additional duties as assignedMinimum Requirements:Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field, Web or Graphic Design, or English3+ years of experience in instructional design or training developmentThis position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by export laws of the US.
